Meeting Tonight: Westwood Community Council

The Westwood Community Council will meet Tuesday night for its semi-monthly meeting to discuss the UCLA guest center, renewal of the Westwood Business Improvement District and other items.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Belmont Village on the first floor. Free parking is available underground at 10475 Wilshire Boulevard.

Other topics on the agenda include:

•  -- the Westwood Neighborhood Council recently OK'ed some changes to the proposed development.
• -- several Westside councils are opposing the project, saying it will worsen traffic conditions in the area.
• -- local hotels say the proposed UCLA hotel will have an unfair advantage in the Westwood market.
