Small Brush Fire Breaks Out In Beverly Crest Area

Firefighters spent the better part of an hour getting a handle on the fire burning up a steep hillside.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles firefighters were able to make quick work of a small brush fire burning in the Beverly Crest area Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out at about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday and burned uphill in steep terrain with heavy brush near the 10500 block of West Selkirk Lane in the Beverly Crest area. By 1:51 p.m., firefighters had the flames put out.

"Firefighters stopped the brush fire at approx 1/4 acre in 47 minutes, before it had the chance to threaten any structures," said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange. "Crews will continue to work in the area, mopping up hot spots and fortifying containment lines."
