UPDATE: Cruiser the Abused Pitbull Has Finally Found a Home
The spcaLA is fundraising to help send Cruiser to a new home out of state. Please send a donation if you can.

Patch readers may remember the story of Cruiser, the 6-year-old pitbull locked in a trunk and then thrown onto a Culver City sidewalk.
Now, it looks like Cruiser might have a new home. The spcaLA has been working hard to find a suitable place for Cruiser and Patch is delighted to announce that Cruiser will finally be receiving his much-deserved second chance at life.
But the spcaLA needs the public's help in their fundraising efforts to send Cruiser to his new home. Below is the letter Patch received from spcaLA:
Recently you posted a story about Cruiser, and I thought you might like to know the latest about him. Would you like to let your readers know what’s happening since so many followed your original story?
As you know, Cruiser was rescued by Culver City Police Officers after being locked in a trunk and then left on a sidewalk to die. His abuser has been convicted of animal cruelty, and Cruiser has been a guest of spcaLA since he was released from the emergency veterinary clinic. Likely because of the abuse he suffered, Cruiser needs a lot of one-on-one work to rehabilitate him physically and mentally. After an exhaustive search, spcaLA found an out-of-state rescue group willing to give Cruiser the care he needs and the chance he deserves.Â
spcaLA is fundraising to send him to an out-of-state rescue group.Â
