World Premiere Play Extended at Geffen
"The Pianist of Willesden Lane" now runs through August 19 at the Westwood theater.
"The Pianist of Willesden Lane," a world premiere of a music-filled play now at the , has been extended four more weeks to August 19.
The play, adapted and directed by  Hershey Felder, stars Mona Golabek, a concert pianist. Golabek tells the story of her mother, a pianist living in Europe during the Nazi occupation. Golabek performs famous pieces from the piano repertoire during the show, telling the story of how the occupation altered her mother's dreams of performance.
The play is based on the book The Children of Willesden Lane by Mona Golabek and Lee Cohen.

For tickets, call 310-208-5454 or visit www.geffenplayhouse.com. There are shows at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday. There are no performances on Mondays or Tuesdays, or on July 4 and July 11.
