Artesia to Host Annual 'Just Dump It' Campaign Saturday

The city of Artesia, in conjunction with Republic Services, is hosting its eighth annual Just Dump It (legally) Campaign this Saturday.

This will be a drive-thru type of event starting at 8 a.m. on July 20. 

There will be two locations for dropping off bulky items and excess junk and one location for hazardous waste/ E-waste (electronic waste). The hazardous waste and E-waste drop-off is open to all L.A. County residents.

Bulky Items will be taken from 8 a.m. to noon, at A.J. Padelford Park (11870 169th St.) and Artesia Park (18750 Clarkdale Ave.). Hazardous waste and E-waste will be taken on the eastern side of Artesia Park (Elaine Ave. parking lot) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hazardous waste/E-waste includes motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid, paint thinner, turpentine, cleaners with acids or lye, pesticides, herbicides, household and car batteries, pool chemicals, outdated medications, electronics (i.e. televisions, computers, cell phones), fluorescent light tubes, light bulbs, and mercury-containing items.

Tires without rims will be accepted at A.J. Padelford Park only from 8 a.m. to noon.

Proof of Artesia residency (an ID and utility bill) is required for bulky item drop-off.
