Authorities ID Man Killed In Hit-And-Run In Cerritos
A man was killed in a hit-and-run on the 91 Freeway in Cerritos when he stopped to help a driver who had run out of gas.
CERRITOS, CA — Authorities Monday identified a man who was killed in a hit-and-run on the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway in Cerritos when he stopped to help a motorist who had run out of gas.
Miguel Gutierrez Fabian, 34, of Norwalk died at the scene of his injury, which occurred about 12:15 a.m. Sunday just west of Studebaker Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported that a motorist who had run out of gas stopped his vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway, and Fabian had stopped to assist him.

"He was struck by a unknown vehicle that was described as white work truck with wooden rails on the bed of the truck and possible collision damage to the right front side of the vehicle," a CHP statement said.
