Big Rig Engulfed In Flames On 91 Freeway
The 91 eastbound at Pioneer Boulevard was in a hard closure Monday afternoon after the container truck caught fire, blocking lanes.

CERRITOS, CA — A big rig fire blocked three lanes of traffic on the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway at Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia, according to the California Highway Patrol. Westbound traffic was also heavy through the area during the event.
At just after 1 p.m., the container truck was on fire, obscuring the roadway with black smoke that was visible for miles.
California Highway Patrol officers ordered a SIGAlert and requested a hard closure of the area during cleanup after the fact.

The road was expected to reopen by 3:45 p.m., according to reports.
Drivers were asked to seek alternate routes, if possible. There was no word as to what caused the fire as of this report.
