Complaint Filed Against Cerritos College After Student Rape
The victim was raped by Cerritos College football player Kishawn Holmes of Riverside County.

CERRITOS, CA -- A complaint was filed against Cerritos College after a woman was raped by a football player. The complaint alleges that the college failed to warn students of Kishawn Holmes, who was accused of a prior rape, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.
Holmes, 22, of Riverside County was found guilty earlier this month of one count of forcible rape. The Los Angeles County District Attorney said Holmes invited the victim to his Norwalk apartment where he sexually assaulted her on Sept. 8, 2016.
Holmes now faces up to 18 years in state prison lifetime sex offender registration.

The Press-Telegram said the complaint, filed by attorney Allegra Rineer, "names Holmes as well as the Cerritos Community College District and Cerritos College Dean of Student Services Elizabeth Miller as defendants."
The newspaper reported "the filing alleges negligence, sexual discrimination or harassment in an educational institution and constructive fraud. Doe’s complaint also extends the latter two allegations against Holmes himself, in addition to allegations of sexual assault and sexual battery."
