Cooler Temps, Monsoonal Moisture to Return

After several days of warm summer temperatures and clear skies, clouds are expected to move into the Southland Wednesday, bringing a slight chance of storms and dry lightning.

National Weather Service forecasters said monsoonal moisture is expected to move in from the south Thursday morning, generating a “minimal” threat of dry lightning.

“The slight chance of thunderstorms will begin in Los Angeles and Ventura counties early Thursday morning and continue through early Thursday evening,” according to the NWS. “During the morning hours, all of Ventura and Los Angeles counties will have a slight chance of thunderstorms, then the threat will shift inland during the afternoon.”

Forecasters noted that erratic winds are possible if thunderstorms develop.

High temperatures tomorrow are expected in the low- to mid-70s at the beaches to the 80s inland. Forecasters put the chance of precipitation at about 20 percent.

Clear skies are expected to return by Friday.
