Former Gahr High School Teacher Charged with Raping 13-Year-Old Relative
Jeffrey Scott Jones was arrested at his home in Huntington Beach on June 27.

A former Gahr High School teacher has been charged with raping a 13-year-old female relative and police are now searching for other potential victims.
Jeffrey Scott Jones, 53, of Huntington Beach, was charged with two felony counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one felony count of continuous sexual abuse. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.Â
The defendant is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for a continued arraignment on Aug. 16 at the West Justice Center in Westminster.
At the time of the crime, Jones was teaching advanced placement English at Libra Academy in Huntington Park.
Prior to that, he had regular access to children for 27 years teaching at Gahr High School in Cerritos and Bell High School in the city of Bell, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Jones is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old female relative during the period of Sept. 1, 2012, and April 30, 2013. According to authorities, Jones touched the victim’s chest and vagina over her clothing and under her clothing on different occasions.Â
On May 4, 2013, and May 9, 2013, Jones allegedly raped the girl.Â
In May 2013, the crime was reported to the Huntington Beach Police Department, who launched an investigation and subsequently arrested Jones at his home on June 27, 2013.Â
