One More Round to Mix and Mingle
A look back at the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce 2010 Holiday Networking Mixer and why business people attend.
Members of the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce and their guests connected over holiday treats and conversation at the Holiday Networking Mixer on Dec. 9.
The festivities were held at Grille 91 inside the Cerritos Sheraton Hotel, marking the association's last mixer for 2010.
The Chamber currently has approximately 450 members — a figure that fluctuates because memberships are added, expire or drop out each month, said Cerritos Chamber of Commerce President Dr. Mary Sieu.

"We meet as a chamber once a month for the networking luncheons and once a month for the networking mixers," she said. "The board meets once a month for the business meetings."
"We also have numerous committee meetings such as the business and education committees that also meet on a regular basis," Sieu said, adding that other committees include the governmental relations committee, the ambassador committee, membership committee, etc.Â

Sieu believes the main reason why individuals, organizations and businesses join the chamber is to network and find opportunities to grow.
"The chamber advocates and support local businesses and nonprofits to expand and connect with each other," Sieu added.
The chamber's next networking mixer is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wilner & O'Reilly, 17777 Center Court Dr., Ste 200.  Chamber members are encouraged to attend and non-members are invited as guests for $20 per person, according to the association's website.
