Suspect Detained After Bomb Threat At Cerritos College
Sheriff's officials have declared an all-clear at Cerritos College after a bomb threat led to a shelter-in-place.

CERRITOS, CA — A suspect was detained Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat was made at Cerritos College, leading to a campus-wide shelter-in-place, campus police told Patch.
Sheriff's officials have declared an all-clear at the college, where the prompted the cancellation of classes for the remainder of the day.
The threat to campus was contained to the drop-off area near the Administrative Building by around 12:45 p.m., but the campus needed to continue to shelter-in-place until further notice, Cerritos College officials said.

Campus police requested additional back-up from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Norwalk Station.
A Los Angeles County sheriff's bomb squad was sent to the scene, and people were advised to avoid the building, which is on Alondra Boulevard between parking lots 3 and 4, according to the sheriff's department.

The college then cancelled classes for the remainder of the day.
"All areas of concern have been safely evacuated," the sheriff's department reported.
