SoCal Artists Will 'Chalk It Up' At Chalk Art Festival
Ten artists from around SoCal will use concrete pavement to transform the ground into works of art at the Chalk It Up festival.

CERRITOS, CA – A new chalk art festival will take place at the Cerritos Towne Center on August 11. During the first-ever Chalk It Up, artists will be ditching the canvases and using concrete pavement to transform the ground into works of art.
The public is invited to watch artists as they create their momentary masterpieces from 12 to 5 p.m. and admission to the festival is free. Ten artists from around Southern California will create 2-D and 3-D chalk art, including: Lorelle Miller, Willie Zin, Lysa Ashley, Gus Moran, Lesley Perdomo, David Fields, Valerie Michelle Cortez, Carly Lujan, Shuji Nishimura and Shelsea Flores, according to the press release.
“We’re so excited to bring this kind of event for the community to enjoy – the level of artistry created with mere pieces of chalk is just amazing and that it’s only temporary makes it all the more special,” Shannon Campbell, a marketing director for Vestar, said.
