Man in Custody After 9-Hour SWAT Standoff at Norwalk Home
Sheriff's deputies were initially summoned to the residence near Norwalk Boulevard and Mapledale Street at about 2 a.m. Monday for a domestic violence call.

A man was taken into custody Monday after a 9-hour standoff with a sheriff's SWAT team at a Norwalk residence because of a domestic violence call.
Deputies went to the residence near Norwalk Boulevard and Mapledale Street about 2 a.m. on Oct. 15, according to a sergeant at the Norwalk Sheriff's Station.
When deputies approached the home, they heard the sound that a shotgun makes when it is being "racked," prompting them to back off and send for a SWAT team, the sergeant said. No shots had been fired, nor injuries reported.

The man was taken into custody just after 11 a.m., and he was being questioned, the sheriff's department reported. His name was not immediately released, and it was unclear if he would be arrested.
