Truck Destroys Mobile Home, Palm Reading Business

Veering out of control, the pickup smashed a dwelling that housed a palm reader in its front. Driver investigated for DUI.

A two-vehicle collision in Anaheim Friday sent a pickup truck careening into a mobile home that housed a palm reading business, demolishing the structure and causing minor injuries to a bystander and the truck’s driver.

A Chevrolet Silverado pickup rear-ended a Toyota Camry about 4:30 p.m. as both were northbound on Beach Boulevard near Ball Road, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

The pickup slammed into the mobile home at 1224 S. Beach Blvd., the front of which housed the palm reading business.

A vehicle parked at the address was also damaged, Wyatt said, but a 67- year-old woman avoided being hit by the pickup and suffered only minor injuries when she was struck by debris, Wyatt said.

She was taken to a hospital to be examined, he said.

The pickup truck driver, a man believed to be in his 30s, also sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, according to Wyatt, who said the motorist was being investigated for possibly driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Toyota driver, also in his 30s, did not require hospital transport, Wyatt said.

The residence to the rear of the property remained inhabitable, he said.

A stretch of Beach Boulevard was closed following the crash.
