'Under the Streetlamp' Opens at Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts

From Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts: Let tight harmonies and slick dance moves take you back to an era of sharkskin suits, flashy cars, and martini shakers when Under the Streetlamp unleashes a string of old-time favorites at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) on Friday, January 20, 8:00 PM. Fall in love again with the biggest hits of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s! With the rapport of a modern-day Rat Pack, UNDER THE STREETLAMP lets the good times roll with the era’s gems from the American Radio Songbook. It’s a lively evening of Doo-Wop ditties, Motown melodies, old-time Rock ‘n’ Roll, and favorite songs from The Drifters, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and the Four Seasons. Hilarious behind-the- scenes tales and a live band top off the program.

The original Under the Streetlamp performers met onstage as the lead characters in Jersey Boys and have since formed a concert sensation of their very own, selling out concerts throughout the nation. Indiana’s The Times called the group a “sizzling success.”

Under the Streetlamp has appeared on Broadway, in feature films, and on television – including The Tonight Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and the Emmy and Tony awards broadcasts. The ensemble aired its first PBS special in 2011 and the second in 2014.

The current lineup consists of Michael Ingersoll, whom The Chicago Tribune called a “dripping-with- talent young fellow”; Barrymore Award nominee Christopher Kale Jones; Tony winner and Grammy nominee Brandon Wardell; and Lucille Lortel Award winner and Drama Desk Award nominee Shonn Wiley.
