Brewery Sierra Nevada Pledges $100K For Camp Fire Victims
The popular brewery was forced to close because of the massive blaze, but pledged to help others.

CHICO, CA -- The owners of the popular brewery, Sierra Nevada, announced this week it will create a fund for Camp Fire victims starting with a $100,000 contribution. The Grossman family, which was forced to close its doors because of the massive blaze, made the announcement after providing food and beverages to first responders and victims.
"We are in this with you and we’ll get through it together," they wrote on Facebook.
The Camp Fire has been named the deadliest and most destructive fire in recorded California history after igniting nearly a week ago. Claiming the lives of 48 people with the death toll expected to climb, the fire also burned through 135,000 acres and destroyed 7,000 structures.

Thousands of people remain displaced as firefighters work against strong winds and tough terrrain to contain the fire.

The Grossmans wrote that they will create the Sierra Nevada Camp Fire Relief Fund through the Golden Valley Bank Community Foundation.
"Once the fire is out, we will distribute all donated money to partner organizations that are dedicated to rebuilding and supporting the communities that have been affected," the family wrote.
"Even though we are all living moment to moment trying to figure out who is safe and if our homes have been spared, the beauty of the human spirit still shines through," the family said.
