March 15, 2021LARGE AMOUNT OF DRUGS FOUND DURING TRAFFIC STOPOroville, CA- On March 14, 2021, Deputy Runyon made a traffic stop on Lincoln Blvd. at Ophir Road in Oroville, on a vehicle for vehicle code violations. Deputy Runyon contacted the driver, identified as Misty Black, age 33 of Oroville, and passenger, Timothy Jones, age 38 of Oroville. Deputy Arredondo arrived with his K9 partner “Chico” to assist with the traffic stop. Deputy Arredondo’s K9 partner Chico alerted to the odor of narcotics after a free air sniff around the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, Deputy Runyon located multiple packages of narcotics, totaling 25 grams of heroin, and 5.2 grams of methamphetamine. Deputy Runyon also located items that indicated possible sales of narcotics, to include packaging material (plastic baggies) and a digital scale. Misty Black was arrested for possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sale (heroin) 11351 H&S, possession of a controlled substance for sale (methamphetamine) 11378(a) H&S, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (meth pipes and used syringes) 11364 H&S. Misty’s bail was set at $47,000. Timothy Jones was arrested for possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sale (heroin) 11351 H&S, possession of a controlled substance for sale (methamphetamine) 11378(a) H&S, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia (meth pipes and used syringes) 11364 H&S. After Jones was booked into the Butte County Jail, he was found to be in possession of 1.6 grams of heroin. Jones was also booked for bringing a controlled substance into the jail 4573 PC. His bail was set at $62,000.###
