BUTTE COUNTY, CA – Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place Thursday afternoon in an area evacuated due to the deadly and destructive Camp Fire in Butte County.
The shooting happened around 11:05 a.m. within the evacuation zone, according to the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
"Rumors were circulating that the incident occurred at an evacuation center. Those rumors are false," sheriff's officials said in a press release.
