Walker Fire Burning In Plumas National Forest
The blaze was reported Wednesday afternoon.
PLUMAS COUNTY, CA — A wildfire in Plumas County has burned 1,800 acres near Genesee and is about five percent contained, according to county officials. The Plumas County Sheriff's Office said a mandatory evacuation order has been issued for the Genesee Valley Road Corridor, as well as Ward Creek Road.
The blaze is burning timber and brush in the Plumas National Forest.
The Walker Fire was reported early Wednesday afternoon near Indian Creek and Beckworth Genesee Road. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the US Forest Service.
