Citrus Heights Nurse Banned After Serving Poison Mushrooms to Elderly; 4 Dead
The woman had foraged for the mushrooms outside the care facility.

A nurse from Citrus Heights has been banned for life from working at elder care facilities after serving a "gravy containing poisonous mushrooms" to people at the facility.
Four people died as a result, and the caregiver, Lilia Tirdea, who also ate the dish, has fallen ill as well. Tirdea had foraged for the mushrooms outside the care facility.Â
Raisa Oselsky, the owner of Golden Age Villa in Loomis, where the incident happened, will be able to keep her license, according to the Bee:Â

‘‘The licensee was not present at the time [the meal was prepared] and had no knowledge that the mushrooms were served to the residents until the following day after residents began to fall ill,’’ the report said, according to this story on Boston.com.Â
