Storm Season begins in October and continues through late spring. Prepare now to prevent future flooding concerns.
- Don't blow leaves or lawn clippings into the street. Collect leaves and yard waste and toss in your green waste container.
- Citrus Heights residents with curbside garbage service may set out up to six extra bags of leaves on regularly scheduled green waste days for FREE pickup in November, December, and January.
- Remove storm blown litter or other debris from drain inlets and gutters. Rake leaves away from storm drains to prevent street flooding.
- Monitor drain inlets for standing water after a rain event. Let us know if the water isn't draining.
- Limited FREE sand bags and sand are available for Citrus Heights residents only with proof of residency.
- Call ahead for sand bag distribution instructions - 916-725-2448.
- Sand bag distribution hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Sand bag stations are self-serve. Bring your own shovel.
- Standard COVID-19 precautions apply:
- Maintain social distancing - 6 feet apart.
