Update: Father Allegedly Shoots and Kills Son Following Argument

Citrus Heights Police responded to the 7600 block of Kensington Drive at 8:30 p.m. Friday, and found a male gunshot victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.


 

Citrus Heights Police believe a deadly shooting Friday night in the 7600 block of Kensington Drive was related to an argument between a father and son.

Officers responded to a report of a family disturbance and the sound of a single gunshot at 8:30 p.m. and found one adult male dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside a residence on the block.

The suspect, Peter Rexius, 62, is the victim’s father, according to Citrus Heights Police. Rexius remained on the scene and surrendered to officers without incident. He was arrested and booked at the Sacramento County Jail for homicide.

The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting occurred during a verbal argument, Citrus Heights Police say. The victim’s information is not being released at this time.
