DUI Checkpoint Coming Sept. 28

The Citrus Height Police Department will be conducting a drivers license and DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location Friday, Sept. 28

Citrus Height Police Department officials have another DUI checkpoint planned for Friday, Sept. 28; however, they're not going to disclose its location.

For the third time in as many months, CHPD officers will occupy an undisclosed location at a city intersection between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.

According to a CHPD press release, DUI checkpoints are a proven enforcement tool effective in reducing the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol-involved crashes. Research shows that crashes involving alcohol drop by an average of 20 percent when well publicized checkpoints are conducted often enough.
