Free Rabies Vaccines Available in Citrus Heights Saturday
In celebration of World Rabies Day, the city will sponsor an event to provide free rabies vaccines for local pets.

Citrus Heights and Sacramento County residents will be able to get free rabies vaccinations for their pets Saturday as the city marks World Rabies Day.
World Rabies Day is Friday, but Citrus Heights Animal Services will mark the event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at City Hall, 6237 Fountain Square Drive, and C-Bar-C Park, 8275 Oak Ave. in Citrus Heights.
Cats and dogs will be eligible for a free rabies vaccination with the purchase of an animal license within 30 days. All dogs must be on leash and cats must be in carriers.

According to the City, World Rabies Day was created to educate and help raise rabies awareness and since 2007, World Rabies Day events around the globe have vaccinated nearly 7.7 million animals.
