Last Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event Set for Saturday
Bring your unwanted household hazardous waste items to the City's final drop-off event in Citrus Heights.
Citrus Heights residents can get rid of unwanted paints, household cleaners, batteries and other hazardous waste items during the last drop-off event this Saturday, Oct. 13 at Sunrise Mall.
Each customer can drop off up to 15 gallons of liquid or 125 pounds of material, per vehicle.
According to the City, here’s what’s accepted and not:

What can I drop off?
- Automotive fluids
- Acids
- Household and auto batteries
- Pesticides
- Used motor oil
- Gasoline
- Home-generated needles and syringes (must be in an approved sharps container)
- Household cleaners
- Paints
- Solvents
- Fluorescent lamps and tubes
What items are not accepted?

- Ammunition
- Explosives
- Radioactive material
- Pharmaceuticals
This free program is limited to Citrus Heights residents serviced by Allied Waste. You must bring proof of residency such as an Allied Waste bill or other identification.
Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off
When: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13
Where: Behind the women’s Macy’s at the back parking lot of Sunrise Mall, 6196 Sunrise Mall, Citrus Heights
