Man in Serious Condition after Being Struck by Citrus Heights Man

Andres Rodriquez pleaded not guilty in a Butte County court in early November for an incident that happened the week before Halloween. The victim is in serious condition.

During an altercation in Chico the week before Halloween, a Citrus Heights man reportedly struck someone in the face, causing him to collapse to the ground and hit his head.

The man who was struck, Tyler Burton, went into a medically induced coma, while his attacker, Andres Rodriguez, 20, of Citrus Heights, is being charged with "a felony count of battery with serious injury," according to the Chico Enterprise-Record. He could face trial this week.

Both parties were reportedly in groups at the time of the incident, and Rodriguez' group "moved away from the site" after Burton collapsed. Rodriquez pleaded not guilty in a Butte County court in early November.

On Thanksgiving, with Burton in serious condition, doctors told Burton’s family that there was nothing more they could do. They even prepared to donate Tyler's organs.
