Medifast Weight Control Center Coming Soon to Citrus Heights

The popular meal-replacement diet system, Medifast Weight Control is opening a weight-loss center in Citrus Heights Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to company officials.

According to an official statement, the new business will be the first to open in the Sacramento market and will join Roseville, Elk Grove and Sacramento locations set to launch soon. Company spokeswoman Sara McGauley said the three other locations will launch later this month.

The Citrus Heights location will open at the Sunrise Boulevard Center at 5739 Sunrise Blvd.

The Medifast weight control system became popular in the early 80s as a meal replacement system, joining other popular dietary systems like Jenni Craig and Slim-Fast. According to its mission statement, the plan includes five daily Medifast meals and one "lean and green meal."

According to McGauley, the opening is set to take place between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday on location.
