Security Officer Tries to Stop Robbery Suspect During Subway Break-In
An early Monday morning incident at Subway on Sunrise Boulevard left a security guard injured, while the suspect fled with accomplice in Honda sedan, police say.

A security officer was injured early Monday morning while attempting to stop a man who tried to burglarize a Subway sandwich shop in Citrus Heights, police say.
A private security officer saw a man break the glass window of the Subway and enter the business, at 5489 Sunrise Blvd., according to the Citrus Heights Police Department. The officer notified the police around 1:50 a.m. and saw the man leave the business and get into a light colored Honda sedan.
The security officer then tried to detain the suspect, but fell as the car drove away, sustaining a leg injury; he was treated at Mercy San Juan Hospital.

While no property was taken from the business, there is a video of the incident, which is under review. The suspect is described as a white male adult, wearing dark clothing. The vehicle was driven by a white female adult.
