Two Killed in Drive-By Shooting on Birdcage Street
A man and woman were both killed in Citrus Heights around 11:30 p.m. May 21.

Two people were killed in a drive-by shooting in Citrus Heights Tuesday night.Â
From the Citrus Heights Police Department:
On Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11:30 p.m., Citrus Heights Police Department responded to multiple reports of shots fired at the 6000 block of Birdcage Street, Citrus Heights.Â
Officers found two victims inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. The adult victims, a man and a woman, were pronounced deceased on the scene. The identities of the victims have not been verified and will not be released at this time.
The only information available is a light colored sedan was seen speeding away from the scene in the northbound direction of Birdcage Street towards Greenback Lane. Â
Witnesses also reported seeing a newer white pickup truck drive away from the area southbound on Birdcage Street.
This homicide is actively being investigated by the department’s Investigative Services Division. Investigators are encouraging anybody who may have information regarding the homicide to please call the Citrus Heights Police Department at 916 727-5500 or Sacramento Crime Alert who offers rewards up to $1,000 to volunteer information helpful to law enforcement agencies to fight against crime.
