210 Freeway Traffic Halts When Big Rig Topples
Drivers were stalled for hours on the 210 freeway after an Amazon delivery truck turned on its side, blocking traffic for hours, Monday.

CLAREMONT, CA — Driving through Claremont Monday was a commuter nightmare, according to traffic reports, following a big rig collision. The Amazon semi-tractor trailer, heading westbound, crashed and overturned for unknown reasons on the Foothill (210) Freeway. All westbound lanes were temporarily blocked while emergency crews righted the vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at 4:30 a.m. at Towne Avenue, creating a backup of commuter traffic for miles on the 210 Freeway, the CHP said. A SigAlert was issued shortly thereafter.
Two lanes of westbound traffic were reopened about 6 a.m., according to the CHP, however the slowing continued for hours through that area.
