3 Burglary Suspects Captured: Claremont Cops

CLAREMONT, CA — Two parolees and another man were arrested in connection with a burglary at a home in Claremont, police reported Friday.

About 1 p.m. Thursday, a housekeeper called police to report a break- in at a residence in the 3700 block of Hollins Avenue and said she was hiding inside the home, said Claremont police Lt. Eric Huizar.

"Arriving officers saw a man fleeing the scene in a silver Toyota sedan, He led police on a short pursuit, crashing the car into a large boulder on the property of a home on Westminster Place, then ran off on foot," Huizar said.

One suspect was cornered in a yard in the 900 block of Pomello Drive after a lengthy chase, but refused to surrender and was eventually taken into custody by a police dog, he said.

Police determined two more suspects escaped through Hollins Avenue residence's back door, the lieutenant said.

Police detained the second of the outstanding suspects in Upland during a subsequent breakin, authorities said.

The third suspect was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, also in Upland, in the area of Mountain Avenue and Arrow Highway, after a residential break-in, Huizar said.

Markus Gray, 29, of Hawthorne and Pasadena residents Carl Lloyd, 24 and Dejon Williams, 22, were all booked on suspicion of residential burglary, home invasion and resisting arrest, Huizar said.

Gray was being held in lieu of $60,000 bail at the Inmate Reception Center in downtown Los Angeles, and loyd and Williams, due to their parole status, were being held without bail at the Claremont City Jail, he said.
