4th Of July Contests To Showcase Claremont's Patriotic Spirit
City officials are on the search for patriotic pets, homes and business as part of its 4th of July community contests.
CLAREMONT, CA — Residents who want to get into the patriotic spirit have until June 24 to enter a pair of contests the city is holding for the 4th of July.
The first is a decoration contest for homes and businesses within Claremont. Only outdoor decorations will be judged and American flags can only be used in accordance with the U.S. flag code, according to a city statement.
Awards for first, second and third place will be handed out in both the home and business categories. Home and business owners must have their decorations ready for judging by June 25.

City officials will also hold a costume contest for patriotic pets owned by anyone living in the city or by students who attend school in Claremont. A photograph of the pet must be received by June 24 and only one entry is allowed per household. Awards will be handed out for pet photos that are cutest, funniest and most original.
