Brandon Browner Arrested For Threatening Woman In La Verne

Famed cornerback of Seahawks, Patriots, arrested for felony threats in La Verne.

LA VERNE, CA — Brandon Browner, the former NFL cornerback from the Seattle Seahawks was arrested in La Verne on suspicion of making criminal threats, police confirmed Tuesday.

Browner, 33, of Pomona was taken into custody about 8:30 p.m. Monday at White and McKinley avenues, said La Verne police Lt. Justin Newman.

He was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, a felony, and was released late Monday on $50,000 bail, Newman said. No court date was immediately set.

Newman declined to release further details on the crime. TMZ.com, citing undisclosed sources, reported that the alleged victim is a woman.

Browner played football at Oregon State and was a founding member of the Seattle Seahawks' "Legion of Boom" secondary, playing for the team from 2011 to 2013. He spent the 2014 season with the New England Patriots, helping them win Super Bowl XLIX over Seattle, and then spent the 2015 season with the New Orleans Saints.

He signed with the Seahawks last off-season and tried to make the team as a safety, but was cut in the spring and has not been signed by an NFL team since.
