Claremont Opens Cooling Center June 15 - June 17

The City of Claremont will offer a Cooling Center on Tuesday, June 14 through Thursday, June 17, 2021, in response to the expected high temperatures. A Cooling Center is a place where residents may beat the heat during heat waves.

The Alexander Hughes Community Center will serve as a Cooling Zone on the following dates:
Tuesday, June 15 through Thursday, June 17, 2021

Alexander Hughes Community Center (1700 Danbury Road) from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
PVTA is available for transportation.
During COVID-19, please be mindful that we are requiring all individuals to always wear a facial covering while inside the facility as well as practicing social distancing (requiring six-feet between one another) for the safety of all individuals and staff.
Transportation will be available through PVTA to transport individuals to the Alexander Hughes Cooling Center. If participants go to either the Joslyn Center or the Blaisdell Center, they can also be transported from those centers to the Alexander Hughes Cooling Center using PVTA. Rides must be scheduled 45-minutes prior to the desired departure time. Call (909) 596-7664 to schedule Cooling Center Transportation.
