The City's Sanitation Division has noticed a recent increase in the number of plastic-wrapped magazines placed in recycling containers.

07/07/2021

The City’s Sanitation Division has noticed a recent increase in the number of plastic-wrapped magazines placed in recycling containers. In order to recycle the magazine, please remove the plastic sleeve and place it in the trash (black) container and place the magazine in the recycle (blue) container. The City advises that all magazines and similar paper products be recycled in this manner. Magazines, catalogues, newspapers, and advertisements that are wrapped in plastic are not recyclable unless they are separated from the plastic sleeve. Plastic wrapped magazines will be discarded as trash at the recycling facility and redirected to the landfill. For questions regarding recycling, please contact the Community Services Department at (909) 399-5431.
