Claremont City Holiday Closure Schedule

City administrative offices will be closed for the holidays.

City administrative offices will be closed for the holidays. City Hall and the City Yard will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. The Hughes Center will be closed from Monday, December 22, 2019 through Sunday, January 5, 2020. The Joslyn and Blaisdell Centers will be closed for activities, programs, and services from Monday, December 23 through Friday, January 3. Both facilities will be available for meal service during the closure.

Sanitation Services: Sanitation services will continue during the closure, including daily trash, recycling, and green waste collection. Pickups on Tuesday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 31 will be on schedule. For the remainder of the week, collection service will be delayed one day due to the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. Sanitation bills may be paid online, mailed, or dropped off at the City Hall drop box during the closure.

Tree Pickup: Live Christmas trees may be put out for pick-up on your regular trash day from January 6 through January 17, 2020. All ornaments, lights, tinsel, etc. need to be removed prior to pick-up. Residents can place the bare tree at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on their regular refuse collection day. Trees over 6 feet tall must be cut in half. For more information, contact Community Services at (909) 399-5431.

Overnight Parking Exemptions: The City will NOT be enforcing overnight parking violations on the following days (from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.): December 25, December 26, January 1, and January 2. If you need to request an overnight parking exemption any other night, please call the Police Department at (909) 399-5411 or click here.

Emergency Services: The Police Department will continue to operate 24 hours with no service impact during the holidays. After-hours emergencies, such as water leaks or downed trees, may be reported to the Police Department by calling (909) 399-5411. The on-duty maintenance crew will be contacted and will respond

Senior Meal Programs: The Joslyn and Blaisdell Centers will be closed for activities, programs, and services from Monday, December 23 through Friday, January 3. Both facilities will be available for meal service during the closure (click here to see nutrition program special hours).

City Parks, CHWP & Recreation Activities: City parks will be open regular hours. The Claremont Hills Wilderness Park will be open and park rangers will be in the park to assist visitors. If you plan on visiting the CHWP over the holidays, you need to pick up your permit by December 21, as the Alexander Hughes Center will be closed from Sunday, December 22 through Sunday, January 5. Residents may register for all recreation classes and activities through the City website at www.claremontrec.com.
