CLAREMONT, CA — Claremont officials will welcome residents back to city buildings June 1 when several buildings reopen their lobbies to the public.

The move was prompted by Los Angeles County’s loosening coronavirus safety restrictions after moving into California’s yellow tier for safe reopening earlier this month. Only a few city buildings will reopen their lobbies for in-person services, according to officials.

The buildings include Claremont City Hall, the Claremont Police Department, the City Yard and the Alexander Hughes Community Center.

Safety precautions will be implemented when the buildings reopen, including capacity limits and temperature checks. Visitors will also have to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth when inside a city facility, contrary to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's new guidance on indoor mask requirements for fully vaccinated individuals.

Visit the city’s website for a full list of buildings that will reopen their lobbies and for their hours of business.
