Claremont Seeks Youths To Join Teen Committee

CLAREMONT, CA — The city of Claremont is searching for applicants to join its Teen Committee.

The committee provides the city's youth with a way to get engaged with local politics and provide a teenager’s perspective on government matters, city officials said. To join the committee, applicants must be 12 years of age or older and enrolled in a Claremont school.

A completed, printed application must be submitted to the Alexander Hughes Community Center at 1700 Danbury Road by July 15.

The Teen Committee is comprised of 11 members and includes ad hoc committees that tackle several topics including the environment, women’s empowerment and youth mental health, according to officials. Meetings are held at 3:15 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month in the Youth Activity Center.
