Claremont Weather: Warming Trend

Winds were expected across San Gabriel Valley, with warmer weather expected throughout the week.

CLAREMONT, CA — A warming trend got underway Tuesday in the Southland, where temperatures are expected to rise by several degrees.

The higher temperatures are the result of warm gusty winds, which will sweep the region through Tuesday morning, and a ridge of high pressure from the Pacific, which will shift to the east later this week, said National Weather Service meteorologist Kathy Hoxsie.

Wind advisories will be in effect until noon in the L.A. coastal zone, which consists of County beach cities, metropolitan Los Angeles, and the Hollywood Hills; the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and San Gabriel valleys; the San Gabriel and Santa Monica mountains; and until 1 p.m. in coastal and inland Orange County. Winds of 15-25 mph were expected, along with 35-mph gusts.
