Earthquake Shakes San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA — A magnitude 3.1 earthquake shook the eastern part of the San Gabriel Valley and the Inland Empire Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake occurred around 2:12 p.m. originating just south-southeast of Rancho Cucamonga. The temblor could be felt in Claremont, La Verne, Corona and San Bernardino, according to the USGS.

A 3.4 earthquake rocked the West Los Angeles and the South Bay earlier this week, centered just 2.5 miles northwest of El Segundo.
