Giddyup, Steak Fans! A New Restaurant Is Movin' In

LongHorn Steakhouse, popular purveyor of steaks, ribs, chicken and seafood, is opening its first California location in Rancho Cucamonga.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA — With hundreds of locations nationwide, LongHorn Steakhouse finally is making its way to the Golden State.

The first California LongHorn opens next month in Rancho Cucamonga with a "lasso-cutting" — the chain's signature ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Known best for its wide array of sizzling steaks and casual Western vibe, LongHorn is slated to open Wednesday, March 11 at 12327 Foothill Blvd., helmed by Managing Partner Christopher Barto, an industry veteran of more than 23 years.

Marking the grand opening, the “lasso-cutting” will be at 2 p.m., highlighted by one lucky guest cutting into the eatery's "first official steak" – a LongHorn bone-in Outlaw Ribeye. Doors open and dinner service begins at 3 p.m.

With more than 520 locations in 41 states, primarily in the East, Southwest and Midwest, LongHorn is in Orlando-based Darden Restaurants' portfolio, the parent company of such eateries as Olive Garden, Yard House, Seasons 52 and Eddie V's.

The restaurant, which prides itself on "fresh, never frozen, expertly grilled and boldly seasoned steaks" prepared by certified LongHorn Grill Masters, recently was chosen as the No. 1 casual steakhouse chain by TheDailyMeal, beating competitors Black Angus Steakhouse, Outback Steakhouse and Logans Roadhouse.

On the LongHorn menu are multiple steak options, along with chicken, pork chops, ribs, salmon, shrimp and lobster tails, plus sandwiches, soups, beer, wine and cocktails. The "Texas Tonion" is the standout starter — crispy onion petals served with a dip.

As part of the chain's giving-back LongHorn Steakhouse Harvest program, wholesome, unused food will be "harvested" and donated to The Way World Outreach Downtown Mission in San Bernardino, company officials said.

The Rancho Cucamonga locale will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. See more here on LongHorn and its menus.
