Holidays Has Meant an Increase in Vehicle Burglaries
City and police officials are warning people not to leave valuables in their vehicles.

Claremont officials warn that they are seeing an increase in the number of thefts from locked and unlocked vehicles and reminds residents not leave any valuables in cars.
“If you must leave something valuable in your vehicle, lock it in your trunk where it’s out of sight,” city manager Tony Ramos wrote in his weekly written address to the community.
City staffers and police warn it’s not wise to leave anything inside the vehicle even while parked on a driveway or the parking lot of a shopping mall. Would-be burglars are on the hunt for shoppers who take items out to their vehicles and then return to the mall to continue shopping. Large parking lots present the best opportunities to thieves.
