House Fire Ignites Brush In La Verne
An explosion at a La Verne home ignited brush, threatening homes, Monday.

LA VERNE, CA — A fire that began in a La Verne home ignited about a half- acre of brush Monday in an unincorporated area near La Verne, but no injuries were reported.
Crews responded to a report of an explosion and fire at a one-story, single-family home in the 4500 block of Live Oak Canyon Road north of Baseline Road, Monday evening.
Arriving firefighters found the residence engulfed in flames, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The brush and house fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported, a dispatcher said.
