Pitzer College Appoints Kimberly Shiner As New Vice President

Shiner will oversee the Claremont-based college's office of advancement and communications.

CLAREMONT, CA — Pitzer College in Claremont named Kimberly Shiner as the its new vice president for college advancement and communications.

Shine is expected to start at Pitzer in August and will oversee the college’s overall fundraising and communications strategies.

Before joining Pitzer, Shiner spent seven years at California State University, San Bernardino, where she most recently served as associate vice president for university advancement. She also spent 13 years at the University of Southern California, where she served as the senior executive director of development for USC government and civic engagement as well as senior associate director of foundation relations for the Keck School of Medicine.

“Kimberly received enthusiastic support from every constituency that interviewed her,” Pitzer College President Melvin L. Oliver said in a statement. “I am confident she will be successful leading the recently combined areas of advancement and communications at Pitzer, and I know she will help further Pitzer’s ability to live out our values.”
