Pétanque Returns To Larkin Park in Claremont
Unvaccinated people are encouraged to wear masks and practice physical distancing while playing the game, according to Claremont officials.

CLAREMONT, CA — With California lifting its coronavirus restrictions earlier this month, city officials have announced the return of pétanque to Larkin Park.
Games will be held every Sunday at 4 p.m. on the park's pétanque court on the north-eastern side, Claremont officials said in a statement. Pétanque is similar to bocce ball but, instead of rolling the ball, players in pétanque toss their ball toward a target.
Although communal equipment will be available to use, participants are encouraged to bring their own for hygiene reasons. Players who have not received a COVID-19 vaccination are encouraged to wear a face covering and practice physical distancing from other people, according to city officials.
