Road Closures In La Verne After Power Pole Crash

LA VERNE, CA — Edison crews were on the scene after a crash on Arrow Highway overnight. A Mercedes SUV struck a powerpole at 2 a.m. according to authorities. It is not clear if alcohol, drugs or sleepy driving was the cause.

The eastbound lanes of Arrow Highway between Wheeler Avenue and B Street will be closed until noon Wednesday after a traffic collision took out power lines, leaving dangerous wreckage.

Edison crews will need at least eight hours to repair damage to the lines caused by the SUV, said Sgt. Justin Newman with the La Verne Police Department. No injuries were reported.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
