A candidate city for the 2024 Olympics, LA 2024 Tuesday announced its proposed locations for archery, modern pentathlon and mountain biking, continuing with its plan to use existing venues and not building new ones specifically for the Olympic Games.

Should Los Angeles land the Games, archery will take place at the planned $2.6 billion Los Angeles Stadium and entertainment district in Inglewood, which is currently under construction and scheduled to be the home of the NFL's Rams and Chargers in 2019.

Mountain biking will be hosted at the Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas, and modern pentathlon is to be staged at the StubHub Center Carson.

"LA 2024's proposed venues for archery, mountain biking and modern pentathlon will deliver stunning stages for these great sports, all fully in line with the sustainability principles of the IOC's Olympic Agenda 2020 reforms," LA 2024 Chairman Casey Wasserman said.

LA 2024 in December proposed a balanced budget for the Games, with projected costs and revenue coming to $5.3 billion. A big reason for the balance is the Games would only use existing venues or those already planned for other purposes, like Los Angeles Stadium.

On Monday, LA 2024 also announced a plan to use both the Memorial Coliseum and Los Angeles Stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies.

"At LA 2024 we are particularly grateful to the IOC for creating a bidding process which allows for closer collaboration with the IFs than ever before, and the chance to enhance our offering to the Olympic Movement with every iteration of our Games plan," LA 2024 CEO Gene Sykes said.

"This low-risk, sustainable venue configuration will mean no surprises for the IOC and IFs, and optimal conditions for every athlete in 2024," Sykes said.

LA 2024 is competing with bid committees in Paris and Budapest, Hungary, to bring the Olympics to Los Angeles in 2024. The winning city will be announced in September.
