San Gabriel Valley-Based Nonprofit Volunteers With Fire Victims

The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation sent volunteers to shelters in both Northern and Southern California.

SAN DIMAS, CA -- A San Dimas-based nonprofit has sent its volunteers to assist the victims of the wildfires in both Northern and Southern California. The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation said Tuesday is volunteers distributed emergency supplies including 550 blankets to victims of the Camp Fire, who are sheltering in Chico.

In Southern California, volunteers were sent to shelters across Los Angeles to help victims of the Woolsey Fire.

In addition, volunteers are heading a "street fundraising campaign" this weekend to raise money for the victims.

Contributions will be used to provide a warm blanket, a hot meal, or a cash card to let a family decide what they need most to move forward.
