'ShakesBeer' Festival Combines Craft Beer With The Bard
The beer festival will be held at the Claremont Village and will be followed by a performance of William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night."
CLAREMONT, CA — Ophelia’s Jump Productions Midsummer Shakespeare Festival returns to Claremont July 15, and to help mark the occasion the theater group will hold a craft beer festival.
'ShakesBeer' will be held July 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Claremont Village and will feature beers from local breweries including Claremont Craft Ales, Last Name Brewing and Old Stump Brewing Company. A performance of William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” will follow the festival at 8 p.m. in the Sontag Greek Theatre at Pomona College, organizers said.
Admission for the beer festival costs $80 and includes beer, food tastings from local vendors and the “Twelfth Night” performance. Attendees can pay $60 for the beer and food tastings alone, according to organizers. A designated driver ticket costs $30 and includes food tastings and non-alcoholic drinks.
